General Rules Regulations Information 1. Contestants in this tournament will be governed by the rules of the United States Bowling Congress plus the following special provisions. 2. The tournament is open to all USBC sanctioned bowlers who are members of a chartered Association in the State of Arizona and Blythe, CA. Thirty (30) days prior to participation in the tournament. In addition, a non-resident who is eligible for the State Championships tournament in their state of residency must have bowled 21 games or more in a sanctioned league competition through a chartered Local Association in the State of Arizona as of and including May 1, 2007. 3. All entries and money must be in the possession of the tournament director no later than 9:30 AM June 23, 2007. No Exceptions. 4. After the entry fee has been accepted, the entry cannot be transferred without the written consent of the tournament director. 5. The qualifying round will consist of six games across twelve lanes. All scores will be scratch. 6. No more than three bowlers will be scheduled on any one lane. Bowlers will be assigned lanes as entries are received. 7. The top qualifiers and the previous years Arizona State Masters Champion will advance to the match play finals on Sunday morning. The number of finalists and games will be determined by the number of entries; 10 finalists and 10 games with up to 50 entries, 12 finalists and 12 games with 51 70 entries, and 14 finalists and 14 games with 71 or more entries. Each finalist will bowl all other finalists once followed by a position round. 8. All pins from qualifying will be carried over to the finals. In addition bonus pins will be awarded as follows; 30 bonus pins for a win, 15 bonus pins for a tie, and 0 bonus pins for a loss. 9. The previous champion must pay the entry fees and bowl the qualifying round. The previous champion will be seeded in the last qualifying position if they fail to qualify. 10. A one game match will decide ties for the last qualifying spot. An extra complete ninth and tenth frame will be bowled in the event of a tie at the end of the match. Failure of any contestant to be available in case of a tie will constitute forfeiture. 11. AZ STATE USBC tournament dress code applies.
